Communications Director and Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club, Kwame Opare Addo has debunked claims that the Club owes the playing body some three months outstanding or unpaid wages.

Mr Addo’s remarks come against the backdrop of recent media reports making rounds that Hearts of Oak players are owed three months salaries, alongside three outstanding match-winning bonuses.

‘’In the first place there are no such things like three months outstanding unpaid salaries or bonuses that Management of the club has not paid to our players – There is nothing like that’’ he told Ahenfie Sports.

He described as inaccurate and exaggerated any rumours of the clubs’ prolonged indebtedness to players, stating that the only debt due is the month of October which is yet to end.

‘’If it is an issue with unpaid wages for this very month which is yet to end, I will not run away from it, but to say we owe players some three months arrears that is never true’’

‘’Whatever is due them after every game including bonuses, we will make sure it is worked on and delivered to them - As the motivation continues to come, the players also continue to work well’’ he added.

He affirmed that the Management’s system of payment is uniform, indicating that the club’s position on the matter therefore remains clear ahead of their next game.

‘’Even before we play our next game, whatever bonus that is due whoever for this very month will be honoured before the next fixture’’

Hearts of Oak defeated Basake Holy Stars 1–0 in matchday 8 of the Ghana Premier League, with Martin Karikari scoring the lone goal at the University of Ghana Stadium.
