NDC supporter and self-styled political activist and serial caller, Frank Kwaku Appiah, popularly known as Appiah Stadium, has called on persons he describes as “uneducated” or “illiterate politicians” to celebrate the election of Kojo Bamba as the First National Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking on Anopa Ahenfie with Nana Kwadwo Jantuah, PhD, on Ahenfie TV/FM, Appiah Stadium said the victory demonstrates that people without formal education can also attain leadership positions within political parties.
“We, the uneducated, have been struggling in politics and have been engaging in communal work for political parties since the era of Prof. Adu Boahen to the era of J.A. Kufuor,” he said.
Appiah Stadium further claimed that there were attempts during the NPP's national executive election proceedings to persuade Kojo Bamba to give up the First Vice Chairman position and instead accept the Third Vice Chairman position.
He said that despite the alleged pressure, Kojo Bamba ultimately secured the First National Vice Chairman position.
“If today, an uneducated person of my calibre, like Kojo Bamba from Walewale, has been elected First National Vice Chairman of the NPP, then we, the uneducated, should be encouraged,” he said.
He subsequently called on people he described as “uneducated” to recognise and commend Kojo Bamba for what he described as a significant milestone.
Appiah Stadium's comments come after the NPP's national executive elections, in which new national officers were elected to lead the party.
