Former Bantama MP, former EPA Chief Executive Officer and NPP stalwart, Dr Henry Kwabena Kokofu, has expressed no surprise at Kojo Bamba’s victory in the party’s recently ended national elections in the Ashanti Region.
Speaking in an interview on Anopa Ahenfie on Ahenefie TV/FM, hosted by Nana Kwadwo Jantuah, PhD, Dr Kokofu said he became aware of Kojo Bamba’s intention to contest for the First Vice Chairman position after he had decided to contest for the position of General Secretary.
According to Dr Kokofu, Kojo Bamba had expressed confidence in his ability to win the election and contribute to the NPP’s efforts ahead of the next general elections.
“Kojo said, ‘I can do it. I have been working with you to the extent that I have also inculcated that can-do spirit within you" he said.
Dr Kokofu further explained that Kojo Bamba’s decision to contest was motivated by his desire to contribute to the party’s efforts to secure victory for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the next national polls.
The former MP also recalled that after he decided not to contest for the General Secretary position, Kojo Bamba personally visited him at his residence and appealed to him to reconsider his decision.
